Richard John - RJA
Richard John Richard John is Managing Director of RJA (GB) Ltd, based in the UK. He has 25 years of sales, marketing, training and event management experience, working with a host of international organisations including News International and British Airways. He is now recognised as a leading authority in the field of event management, training and consultancy. He is the author of several marketing books, with many more in the pipeline. Richard also wrote and developed the “Inside Job” television series for Channel 4 Television
He is a guest Lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University and on event programmes held at numerous universities and colleges, both in the UK and overseas. Richard has a Joint Hons Degree (Economics & International Studies) from Warwick University and a raft of post-graduate qualifications. He is a qualified adviser and assessor of National Vocational Qualifications (D32 and D33) and holds an NVQ Level V in Management (as well as a Diploma in Management) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Strategic Training and Development from the University of Surrey. He is currently completing his MSc in Conferences and Events at Leeds Metropolitan University.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning and the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management have all elected him as a Fellow.
Richard was, for many years, the star of the AEO/DTI road-show series that encouraged thousands of companies to dramatically improve their exhibiting effectiveness. He is also a regular contributor to dozens of business magazines on a variety of event-related topics. More recently he was appointed International Editor to the IPTV stations “Events Review and “Meetings Review”, where his interviews can be seen 24/7. He is also the organiser of a number of conferences and events, which allows him to apply “real life” to his presentations and workshops.
Richard is also a popular and well-regarded presenter on the MICE Speaker circuit, including IMEX, Confex, MIA, EIBTM, NVS, UFI, ABPCO, and BACD, and his presentations have been extremely well-received across the world, with successful assignments in mainland Europe, Scandinavia, the USA, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.
In his limited spare time, Richard struggles to learn the guitar, writes brilliant unpublished novels, and rebuilds classic British sports cars.
